Addie Lectures
Using the app

Terms of service

Effective November 2, 2026

These terms apply to Addie Lectures, a personal Android study app maintained by Gary Baglin, and this informational website.

Purpose and permitted use

The app helps you record lectures, organize study material, use AI study features, and back up content to your own Google Drive. Use it only with content you are permitted to record, process, and store. Obtain required permissions from speakers and comply with applicable recording rules and school or workplace policies.

Your content and accounts

You retain your rights to your content. Using the app allows it to process and transmit that content as needed for the features you enable, as described in the Privacy Policy. Protect your device, Google account, and OpenRouter API key. You control sharing of your Drive files.

Third-party services and costs

Google and OpenRouter are independent third-party services governed by their own terms. AI features require your OpenRouter account and may incur usage charges. You are responsible for those charges and any applicable storage or network costs. Provider availability, model capabilities, pricing, and authorization requirements can change.

Check AI results

Transcripts, summaries, answers, and imported schedules can be incomplete or incorrect. Check important information against the recording, course material, or original schedule. AI output is a study aid and does not replace your own review.

Recording and backup limitations

Device behavior, interruptions, storage limits, network failures, or service errors can affect recording and backup. Check important recordings and exports, and keep independent copies of material you need. From version 0.6.0, verified backups automatically remove local audio; listening afterward requires Drive access, internet, and temporary phone storage. Attached files remain local until removed. Deleting a lecture or attachment from the app does not delete its Drive backup. Uninstalling or clearing app data can remove local material.

Availability and responsibility

This personal-use app is provided as available, without a promise of uninterrupted service, error-free output, or suitability for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by applicable law, no warranties are provided. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes and ending use

Features and these terms may change. Updated terms will be posted here with a revised date. You may stop using the app at any time, revoke connected services, and delete local and cloud copies separately.
